Woman Accused Of Abducting Son From Pomona Foster Home

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday were looking for a woman accused of abducting her son from a Pomona foster home.

Juana Maria Corrigan, 21, is suspected of taking her son, 4-year-old Joshua Corrigan, around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

"Corrigan lost her parental rights . . .  when she abandoned him last year and fled to Mexico," police said.

The suspect reportedly told the foster mother, who she is related to, that she received permission from the child's social worker to take possession of him.

When the woman became suspicious, Corrigan "issued a threat to harm the child if he was not released to her," Sgt. Perez said.

Corrigan is described as a Hispanic woman, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes.

Joshua Corrigan is 3 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes, authorities said.

If seen, officials urge citizens to call 911 or notify a local police department.
