Woman, 72, Killed By Freight Train In Van Nuys
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A 72-year-old woman was struck and killed by a freight train in the San Fernando Valley on Friday, authorities said.
Paramedics sent to the 13200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard in Van Nuys pronounced the woman dead at the scene at about 11:30 a.m., said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A preliminary paramedic report had stated that the victim was in her 40s.
Her name was withheld pending notification of her relatives.
The circumstances of the death were under investigation.
