Woman, 24, With End-Stage Stomach Cancer Marries Longtime Love

ORANGE (CBSLA.com) — A 24-year-old Santa Ana woman with end-stage stomach cancer married her longtime love on Friday.

Sandra Orellana, who has two young girls, wed 29-year-old Andres Rendon at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange.

Doctors, nurses, and staff who made this special day possible were in the crowd smiling, but they were also so sad.

For years, the pair had been saving for a wedding, but Sandra's surprise diagnosis recently upended their plans.

Orellana has just a few months left to live, according to CBS2's Michele Gile, and wanted to make sure she became Andres' wife.

"That's one of her dreams and I know as well that's the best for my two little nieces. Those two little girls, they're going to remember this," Jonathan Orellana, the bride's brother, said.

Tears fell down Sandra's face as she and her husband danced.

Both know they have very little time.

Dream Foundation has donated a honeymoon for the newlyweds, as well as their families. They are going to Disneyland.
