Wild Police Pursuit Concludes With Multi-Car Crash
WESTLAKE DISTRICT (CBSLA.com) — A wild police pursuit finally came to an end, following a number of crashes on Tuesday night.
The pursuit was relatively short, but involved numerous crashes and produced a lot of damage before a large multi-vehicule crash occurred, disabling the suspect's car at the intersection of Temple and Benton.
An earlier crash occurred at the intersection of Temple and Virgil, in which the suspect made a wide turn before crashing into an SUV. The suspect, however, was able to recover and continue fleeing.
The vehicle, which was reportedly stolen, came to its final stop after being T-boned by car while speeding through an intersection and fish-tailing into another car.
The suspect was taken away from the scene in an ambulance. No other reported injuries required any victims to be taken to the hospital.
Police approached the stolen vehicle with guns drawn as the suspect slowly crawled out of the driver-side window to surrender.
Authorities say the suspect was under the influence upon capture.
