Award-winning choreographer/director Matthew Bourne brings his Sleeping Beauty: A Gothic Romance to the Ahmanson Theater. Presented by Center Theatre Group, the classic story tale of a young, cursed girl who sleeps for 100 years awakes in a modern day world. Bourne's Sleeping beauty retains Tchaikovsky's music score from the original ballet. Bourne also changes the historical time as well as the appearance of the prince. While Thanksgiving is a holiday to eat and be with your family, its also important to give back. This season, make a difference by volunteering at the 2013 Westside Thanksgiving Dinner & Celebration. Held at St. Anne Catholic Church & School, volunteers can work one of five work shifts: 6am, 8am, 10am, noon, and 2pm. Simply show up at the volunteer entrance at the site and you will be assigned a serving job. Make sure to dress comfortably and warmly in case it is chilly outside as well. Dinner is served to the homeless as well as low income families who are in need of a good Thanksgiving meal. As part of the holiday give back, there will be a children's carnival and clothing distribution. Donations are always accepted as well.

Start the month with an ice adventure like no other! Chill returns to the Queen Mary in Long Beach with two million pounds of ice used to create a frozen winter wonderland. The giant dome - once home to the legendary Spruce Goose - is frozen over and transformed into a massive 14,000 square-foot igloo called The Ice Kingdom where you can explore hand carved ice sculptures, go ice tubing or ice skating and more.
