Monday, June 25
On July 1, it will be illegal to serve the classic gourmet delicacy in California -- so this week marks your final opportunity to taste foie gras in and around Los Angeles. Chaya chef Shigefumi Tachibe has created a special Pan-Asian a la carte menu starring the sublime goose liver pate: Dishes include a Shaved Foie Gras Parfait (with arugula, strawberries, balsamic and olive oil), Foie Gras Pork Xiao-Long Bao, and Pan-Seared Big Eye Tuna (with Arare crusted Foie Gras and Pinot Noir Sauce).

Tuesday, June 26
If you managed to get through the foie gras dinner hankering for more gourmet goodness, you'll find it at the upscale chain's monthly winetasting event. This month, Chef Taylor Boudreaux has created a five-course dinner paired with selections from St. Helena's Beckstoffer wines. Winemaker Drew Huffine will be on hand to describe the tasting and process he used to create the five vintages diners will sample. See full menu here.

Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present is the first major museum exhibit on rock and roll to spotlight the creative and collaborative role that photographers played in the history of rock music. Delight in images of your favorite classic performers, captured by the likes of Diane Arbus, Henry Diltz, Lynn Goldsmith, Dennis Hopper and more.
The show, which opened on June 23 runs through October 7, and also includes film presentations, a lecture series and periodic musical performances. Check website for schedule.

For the next five days, Los Angeles will be the center of the universe for extreme sports fans, as the 18th annual Summer X Games kick off at 6:00 p.m. tonight at Staples Center and L.A. LIVE. More than 200 athletes will compete for medals and prize money in skateboarding, BMX, freestyle motocross and Rally.

Learn to dance like a Bollywood film star - for free - at this week's Active Arts® event for dancers of all levels (i.e., beginners welcome!) Live bands and DJ's present music at L.A.'s largest open air dance floor.
Saturday, June 30
Billed as the nation's largest convention for fans of the Japanese cartoon genre known as anime, the -- annual Expo opens on Friday June 29 and runs through June 30. The convention is like one big costume party, as one of the event's biggest attractions is cos-play: literally dressing and portraying yourself as a favorite character from anime or manga. There will be panel discussions, special guests from Japan, previews of video games and of course, plenty of cos-play opportunity.
Rock of Ages may not have scored with movie audiences, but that doesn't mean there isn't an appetite for hit songs of the 80's: especially when performed by the actual artists that made that decade's music fun. The B-52's celebrate 35 years of Rock Lobster-y goodness at the Greek, along with the melodious men from Squeeze.
