Wet Storms Dump 6-Feet Of Snow At Tahoe Resorts
RENO, Nev. (AP) — The timing was perfect for Lake Tahoe-area ski resorts.
A potent winter storm over the weekend dumped 5-6 feet of fresh snow at the higher elevations, just in time for the busy Christmas and New Year's holidays.
And weather forecasters say more is on the way.
The storm that started Friday brought more than 6 feet of snow to Mount Rose Ski Tahoe southwest of Reno.
Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley USA on the west side of Lake Tahoe picked up about 5 feet of new snow, as did Kirkwood, which reports receiving 7 feet in the past week.
A winter storm warning remained in effect for the Lake Tahoe region through Monday afternoon.
The forecast from the National Weather Service calls for continued snow throughout the week.
