Wednesday Marks 25th Anniversary Of Aeromexico Crash In Cerritos
CERRITOS (CBS) — A memorial was held Wednesday to mark the 25th anniversary of a horrific plane crash.
An Aeromexico DC-9 collided with a small place over the city of Cerritos on Aug. 31, 1986.
The flaming wreckage plunged into a residential area, killing 82 people, including 15 on the ground.
At least 20 homes were destroyed or damaged.
The victims were remembered during a ceremony at the Air Disaster Memorial, located in the Cerritos Sculpture Garden.
