Prosecutor, Son Of Watergate Figure Faces Child Porn Charge
SAN DIEGO (CBSLA.com) — A state prosecutor and the son of a Watergate figure has pleaded not guilty to possession of child pornography.
Deputy Attorney General Raymond Joseph Liddy, of Coronado, was reportedly taken into custody and booked into federal jail Tuesday. He has since been released on $100,000 bond and been placed on administrative leave.
Liddy is the son of G. Gordon Liddy – who went to prison for planning the break-in of the DNC offices at the Watergate hotel in Washington D.C., touching off the events that led to President Nixon's resignation.
According to CBS8.com, the investigation into Liddy began in January after internet service providers tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a user was uploading child pornography in a messaging program.
