Warm Temperatures, Santa Ana Winds Expected Across SoCal
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Los Angeles will be the envy of the nation in the weather department Sunday, as much of the snow-bound nation huddles up for the Super Bowl.
A fresh breath of Santa Ana wind will blow temperatures into the 80s across much of the metro area and the skies should be cloudless.
The rest of the nation, however, has seen bitter winter weather, especially the Midwest and New England. In Dallas, where the big game will be played at 3:30 p.m., snow is on the ground.
Valley and foothill residents will notice the offshore breeze, especially those below canyons and passes, but the winds, partly driven by topography, should lighten up the closer you get to the ocean.
Monday should be a few degrees cooler and forecasters at the National Weather Service in Oxnard predict the balmy weather to continue in the near term. So far, no rain is on the horizon.
