Wanna Avoid A Parking Ticket? Website Lists Relaxed Enforcement Routes
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — It's about to get a little easier to avoid a parking ticket in the city of Los Angeles.
KNX 1070's Claudia Peschiutta reports Mayor Eric Garcetti debuted a new website on Wednesday that will alert residents to various routes where parking enforcement will be relaxed on any specific date.

The website from the Bureau of Street Services allows residents to search for street sweeping routes and schedules in their neighborhood to avoid a possible parking violation.
Relaxed enforcement routes listed on the website are organized by city district, route number, posted time and street boundaries.
Among other benefits, the site is aimed at helping residents avoid citations on streets marked for sweeping, of which about 5 percent are never cleaned because of scheduling or staffing issues, according to the Daily News.
The Mayor's office said the website could be prone to possible delays in updating some information while officials work on smoothing out the initial glitches.
"I want to bring City Hall back to basics by focusing on customer service and delivering core services more efficiently and effectively," said Garcetti in a statement. "This is about common sense. People shouldn't block the streets from getting swept, and people shouldn't get tickets for no good reason."
The initiative is the latest move by Garcetti to address parking issues citywide following efforts to better regulate valet parking operators and setting up community "Help Desks" to address residents' parking concerns.
