'Virgin' Actor Gets Life In Prison For Stabbing His Ex
VISTA (AP) — An actor who appeared in the film "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" has been sentenced to life in prison with possible parole for stabbing his ex-girlfriend more than 20 times.
Shelley Malil was sentenced Thursday by San Diego County Superior Court Judge Harry Eilas in suburban Vista.

The prosecutor says Malil could be freed on parole in nine years.
In September, a jury convicted Malil of attempted premeditated murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
The 45-year-old actor testified that he visited Kendra Beebe at her San Marcos home in August 2008 to apologize for taking personal items from her house. He stabbed her with a kitchen knife after finding her with another man.
Beebe suffered puncture wounds to her neck, chest, back and arms. Both of her lungs were also punctured in the attack.
Before sentencing, Malil apologized for the stabbing and said he wanted to go to prison.
"I want to do whatever I need to do to make sure I make right from the wrong I did," he said.
He added, "Kendra Beebe did not deserve anything that happened to her...I can't even begin to imagine what she has been through."
Beebe also addressed the court and discussed her emotional and physical pain. She also lashed out at her ex for what she called his less than credible testimony during the trial. She called his testimony, "lie after lie."
After sentencing, she told reporters that justice was served and she hoped Malil's apology was sincere.
Malil played Haziz, a co-worker of Steve Carell's character in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin."
