Violent Snowstorm Prompts Dozens Of Cancellations At LAX
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A violent storm unleashing its fury on the Midwest and Northeast prompted the cancellations of dozens of flights from Los Angeles Wednesday.
American Airlines canceled eight flights to Chicago, and United canceled nine, Harold Johnson of Los Angeles World Airports said Wednesday.
Continental and Jet Blue each canceled three flights from LAX to cities affected by bad weather; and Virgin America canceled five flights, Johnson said.
American Airlines also canceled one flight each into Boston and St. Louis, and United canceled a flight into New York City, he said.
Passengers were advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
