Vin Scully Pays Tribute To Yogi Berra
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Before the Dodgers took on the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, Vin Scully paid tribute to the great Yogi Berra, who passed away on Tuesday.
Berra's picture was simultaneously shown on both Jumbotrons at Dodger Stadium while Scully delivered his speech.
Scully's monologue detailed Berra's legacy on the game, and how Dodgers manager Don Mattingly pays tribute to Berra each and every day.
Berra also played with Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, who wears number 8 in honor of Berra.
During almost every game, Mattingly can be seen wearing a wind-breaker, but for Wednesday's game against the D'backs, the Dodgers manager was proudly showing off his number 8.
Berra was in the MLB for the first 16 years of Scully's career.
Superstars like Mike Trout and Bryce Harper tweeted out their own tributes to Berra.
There will never be another Yogi. He went to 14 World Series and won 10 of them. He brought smiles to the faces of millions. RIP Yogi
