Villaraigosa Takes New Post As Professor At USC's School Of Public Policy
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has been appointed as a professor at the University of Southern California.
Villaraigosa is joining the faculty of USC's Price School of Public Policy and will work on large scale approaches to policy issues facing California.
"Throughout his tenure as mayor of the city of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa made significant progress in policy areas that are critically important to the USC Price School, including transportation and infrastructure development, public safety, port security and the environment," Dean Jack H. Knott said.
The 60-year-old left office in June following mayoral two terms.
Aside from his teaching duties at USC, Villaraigosa has added several other titles to his resume.
On Tuesday, he announced his new role as senior advisor at Edelman, the world's largest public relations firm.
The former mayor is a strategic advisor for the Banc of California, a senior advisor for Herbalife and holds a fall political fellowship at Harvard.
The ex-mayor receives an annual pension of more than $97,000 from the City of Los Angeles.
