VIDEO: Vandals Caught On Camera Trashing Laguna Niguel Family's Christmas Decorations
LAGUNA NIGUEL (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are searching for three vandals who were caught on camera tearing down a Laguna Niguel family's Christmas decorations.
Homeowner Don Tarzia said he and his three young children walked out of their home Monday morning to find their carefully arranged Christmas decorations in complete disarray. Many of the decorations could be put back in place, but a $175 wire angel was missing altogether.
Tarzia's children were upset, but the family is hopeful they can catch the suspects with the help of a covertly placed security camera that captured the three suspects in action. The suspects' faces can clearly be seen in the video as they tear at the lights and at one point throw a lawn angel.
Tarzia said he's not letting the attack steal his Christmas cheer.
"Although people may try to ruin it and cause sadness and unhappiness, it's their sadness and unhappiness," Tarzia said.
He advised the vandals to "grow your hearts, find the real meaning of Christmas and don't do it again."
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is investigating the incident.
