Ventura Woman Suspected Of Stealing Mail In Custody

VENTURA (CBSLA.com) — A 40-year-old woman was in custody Sunday for allegedly committing mail theft.

According to the Ventura Police Department, officers were sent around 9:50 p.m. Saturday to the home of Robyn Moore, located in the 100 block of South Evergreen Drive, to conduct a follow up investigation regarding the theft of mail packages.

Officers explained the mail theft occurred on Friday in the 2400 block of Poli Street.

According to police, Moore matched the description of the suspect accused of stealing mail. She is currently on probation for theft and narcotic related charges.

Authorities said the stolen packages were not located during their search; however, a check in the name of an Ojai woman was located along with a large amount of financial documents that belonged to the Beach Motors business.

A relative of the victim confirmed the check had been stolen from outgoing mail earlier this month, and a representative from the Ventura business confirmed the financial documents were recently stolen.

Several other postal items believed to have been stolen from residents in surrounding cities, and narcotic paraphernalia were also recovered.

Moore was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.

She is being held at the Ventura County Main Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4325.
