Vehicle Fire On 405 Freeway Snarls Traffic
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday said traffic was heavily backed up on the 405 Freeway through the Sepulveda Pass following a vehicle fire.
Erik Scott, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said crews quickly extinguished the fire on the northbound lanes of the thoroughfare near Skirball Center Drive.
The fire involving one vehicle, possibly a minivan, was reported just after 1:15 p.m. and caused traffic into the San Fernando Valley to be backed up into West Los Angeles, according to Scott.
Scott said one person was being evaluated for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.
No further details were immediately available. Listen to KNX1070 for traffic and weather together on the 5s.
