Vandalized Ronald Reagan Statue To Be Re-Installed Friday
NEWPORT BEACH (CBS) — A bronze statue honoring President Ronald Reagan will be re-installed at an Orange County park Friday after it was vandalized in November.
The Bonita Canyon Sports Park statue was vandalized in the early morning hours of Nov. 6.
Officials said the suspect tied a rope from the top of the statue to the front of a vehicle and tried to pull it down. He was unable to take it down and the statue was tilted in the process.
A $5,000 reward was offered for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
The statue, commissioned by the Newport Beach City Council, was installed in October to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Reagan's birth.
