Officials ID Van Nuys Woman Killed In Fallbrook Bus Crash
FALLBROOK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday released the name of a Van Nuys woman who was killed in a tour bus crash on Interstate 15.
Tayde Murguia, 64, was the sole casualty in Thursday afternoon's accident near state Route 76, the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office said.
A 56-year-old Compton man was driving the bus in wet weather from Los Angeles to the Valley View Casino when the bus began to swerve and ended up on its side around 2:30 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said 22 passengers were on board, including Murguia, who died at the scene.
Fourteen people suffered minor injuries, six people suffered major injuries and one left the scene refusing medical aid.
The crash forced the closure of two lanes of I-15 for several hours.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
Murguia is survived by her husband, according to the coroner.
