The fire scorched approximately four acres of grass in an area north of Victory Boulevard at Haskell Avenue, Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott reported.
Firefighters used a water-dropping helicopter to help extinguish the blaze, Scott said.
The Roscoe Boulevard on-ramp to the southbound 405 was also closed for a period of time.
