Van Modified For Man Who Uses Wheelchair Among 40 Cars Vandalized In Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Three 19-year-old men remained in custody Monday after authorities say they're suspected of shooting up dozens of vehicles with BB guns over the weekend.

It happened late Saturday or early Sunday morning north of Highway 60 and Pigeon Pass Road.

Authorities say a total of $10,000 in damage was sustained to the 40 vehicles that were targeted.

Donny Winn of Moreno Valley is among the victims.

"My van is actually made just for my wheelchair," said Winn, who is recovering from a debilitating bacterial infection and needs a wheelchair to get around.

For Winn, who utilizes his modified van to get around, the vandalism is more than just an inconvenience.

Now, he says, he's unable to get to therapy.

"I was very disappointed," he said.

Rebbeca Cisneros is among the other victims. She had to miss work on Monday in order to get her car fixed.

"It's money down the drain. Money that I could use for a bill," she said.
