Van Buren Boulevard Onramp To Close Sunday
RIVERSIDE (CBS) — Beginning Sunday night, road crews will close the westbound Van Buren Boulevard onramp to the Riverside (91) Freeway to accommodate about 10 days worth of repairs, a city official said Saturday.
The ramp, which is scheduled to close at 9 p.m. Sunday, will reopen by 6 a.m. on July 28, according to Jenna Combs of the Riverside Department of Public Works.
Detour signs will be provided directing traffic to alternate routes, Combs said.
The reconstruction of the onramp is part of the $34.5 million Van Buren Avenue bridge project, which entails widening the span to include two more traffic lanes, as well as a new "hook ramp" and dual left-turn lanes on the westbound onramp.
The new bridge is expected to ease congestion at the interchange.
