USC's McAllister Will Miss Rest Of Season With Hip Injury

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Southern California safety Drew McAllister needs more surgery on his injured hip and will miss the rest of the season.

McAllister played extensively as a backup defensive back and on special teams as a sophomore last season. He missed spring practice with the 20th-ranked Trojans after a prior surgery on his hip.

The Bay Area native had three interceptions as a freshman in 2008.

USC coach Lane Kiffin also said Tuesday night that freshman defensive back Patrick Hall has been reinstated to the team. Hall was suspended indefinitely last month for undisclosed reasons.
