Unemployment In Los Angeles County Steady At 11.8 Percent
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Unemployment in Los Angeles County during March stayed at 11.8 percent, the state Employment Development Department announced Friday, the same rate as February.
The 11.8 percent unemployment rate is below the 12.2 percent rate for the same time last year, showing California on the slow track to economic recovery, the EDD's Loree Levy tells KNX 1070.

The state overall added more than 18,000 jobs, although unemployment went up slightly to 11 percent, from 10.9 percent in February. It's down from a year ago, when the rate was 11.9 percent in March.
In Orange County, seasonally adjusted numbers were not available, but the unemployment rate was 8.1 percent in March, up slightly from 8 percent in February.
