UCLA's Adams Charged With Misdemeanor Battery In Uber Incident
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — UCLA defensive back Ishmael Adams has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery stemming from an August incident with an Uber driver.
The report alleges that Adams used force to take a cellphone from an Uber driver.
Adams was an All-Pac 12 selection in 2015, and was suspended for the first 3 games of this season as s result of the altercation.
The University decided to end his suspension once the District Attorney elected to not file felony charges.
Adams will now be arraigned on November 16th, and is eligible to play moving forward.
Starting all 26 games for the Bruins over the past two seasons, Adams led UCLA with four interceptions in 2013 and returned two intercepted passes for touchdowns in 2014, tying the school record.
Adams is a graduate of Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village. Adams' father, Stefon, played defensive back for the Los Angeles Raiders, Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins in the late 1980s.
