UC Irvine Students Claim Record For World's Biggest Dodgeball Game
IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — For UC Irvine students, dodgeball is more than that "Ben Stiller movie" or a grade school self-esteem killer.
It's a Guinness World Record.
On Tuesday, students participated in the world's biggest dodgeball game.
UCI recorded a whopping 6,084 dodgeball players, according to spokeswoman Laura Rico.
With those numbers, the school officially took back the world record from the University of Alberta's 4,979 players.
The attempt at the Guinness World Record was part of Welcome Week for incoming freshman and transfer students.
