Truck Driver Wanted For Causing 210 Freeway Chain Reaction Crash That Hurt 8
IRWINDALE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities asked for the public's help Monday in locating the driver of a black pickup truck who they believe intentionally struck a motorcycle, triggering a chain reaction that injured six motorcyclists and two car passengers.
The six motorcyclists were going westbound west of Irwindale Avenue on the Foothill (210) Freeway at about 65 miles per hour when the black pickup truck swerved from the far left lane and struck a motorcyclist in the far right lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The impact caused a chain reaction crash with the five other motorcyclists – with at least two of them striking a BMW in the carpool lane.
CHP officers were dispatched to the scene at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, when paramedics rushed the six motorcyclists to local hospitals for major injuries. Two passengers in the BMW were also transported to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
