Triple Murder Suspect Released Pending Further Investigation
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man suspected of killing three men and wounding another in an early-morning shootout in Harbor Gateway has been released pending further investigation, according to authorities.
"We reviewed [the case] and asked for more investigation," said Jane Robison of the District Attorney's Office.
Narada Brooks, 28, who was arrested last Friday by the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division -- was released Tuesday, according to jail records.
The coroner's office identified the three victims as 33-year-old Laurent Latty, of Jonesboro, Ga; Dwayne Damion Cover, 33, of Torrance; and 44-year- old Courtney Murray, of Torrance.
The shooting was reported about 5:30 a.m. Friday in the 1600 block of West 205th Street.
The wounded man, who authorities did not identify, was discovered a couple of blocks north of the crime scene. He was hospitalized in serious condition. It is unclear if the man is still hospitalized.
All four men apparently knew each other, LAPD Sgt. Rudy Lopez said.
