Trial Date To Be Set In Amanda Bynes DUI Case
BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A trial date is expected to be set Wednesday morning for a misdemeanor drunk driving case involving troubled actress Amanda Bynes.
Bynes, 27, is not required to appear before a judge in the case stemming from an April 2012 incident where she reportedly crashed into a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department cruiser in West Hollywood.
The deputy was stopped while northbound on Robertson Boulevard, preparing to turn right onto Santa Monica Boulevard, when Bynes allegedly struck it as she tried to pass to the right.
The Thousand Oaks native has made headlines in recent weeks for racy tweets and bizarre behavior.
She was arrested last Thursday and charged with attempted evidence tampering, reckless endangerment and marijuana possession after she allegedly tossed a bong out of her New York City apartment.
A judge also dismissed two 2012 hit-and-run charges against the actress.
Last year, Bynes was placed on three years' probation and fined for driving without a license.
