Torrance Man, 87, Dies In 2-Vehicle Harbor City Crash
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash in Harbor City on Saturday, according to authorities.
The crash, reported just before noon, involved a Honda Accord and a Ford SUV.
They collided in the 23000 block of South Vermont Avenue near the intersection at Sepulveda Boulevard, according to CHP Officer Tatiana Sauquillo.
According to the CHP report, the driver who died and a female passenger -- who may have been his wife -- had turned the Accord onto northbound Vermont from eastbound Sepulveda Boulevard when their vehicle was hit on the driver's side by the SUV driven by an unidentified 39-year-old Long Beach man.
The Accord's driver, 87, suffered major head trauma. He was pronounced dead at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. The 82-year-old female passenger was no injured.
The SUV driver was also treated at Harbor UCLA for non-life-threatening injuries.
