TMZ: 'My Three Sons' Star Dies At 68
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Don Grady, who played one of the sons on the classic TV sitcom "My Three Sons," has died.
Grady was 68.
The death was first reported on the entertainment website TMZ.com.
Grady played Robbie Douglas from 1960-1971. The show stayed on the air another season.
They quote "Sons" co-star Barry Livingston from his Facebook page. "My dear friend and TV brother Don Grady passed away today. He was an inspiration to me me in so many ways."
Grady reportedly died from cancer.
After he left acting, Grady became a prominent musician writing many movie and TV scores including "The Phil Donahue Show" and the movie "Switch."
By the age of 10, Grady mastered several instruments.
Grady was also an original member of the "Mickey Mouse Club."
He graduated from Burbank High School in 1962.
His other acting credits include the national tours of "Pippin," TV's "Love American Style," "The Rifleman" and "Simon & Simon."
He was the older brother of actress Lani O'Grady, most well known for playing Mary Bradford on "Eight is Enough." She died in 2001 a week shy of her 47th birthday.
