TIger Woods Builds Big Lead In Thousand Oaks
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — For the second straight tournament, Tiger Woods is atop the leaderboard going into the weekend.
Woods hit another collection of shots that had been missing from his game the last two years. He made two eagles Friday in the Chevron World Challenge, and after a double bogey late in the second round, he had a 5-under 67 to take a three-shot lead over Matt Kuchar and K.J. Choi.
Woods also had a one-shot lead at the halfway point in the Australian Open.
He hit 5-iron off the side of the hill to 4 feet for eagle on No. 2, and another blistering iron shot on the 11th to set up an 18-foot eagle putt. Woods was at 8-under 136, the 36-hole leader for the second straight year at the tournament he hosts.
