Tiger Heads To Thousand Oaks Looking For 1st Win Of The Year
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) -- Tiger Woods attributes his first year without a win to turmoil at home and on the golf course.
Woods has one last chance, even though it wouldn't count as official on the PGA Tour.
He is the tournament host of the Chevron World Challenge, which starts Thursday with an 18-man field of
players inside the top 50 in the world.
Woods has not lost at this event since 2005, although he didn't play the last two years.
He missed in 2008 while recovering from knee surgery, and last year's tournament was a week after his
Thanksgiving night accident that led to revelations of infidelity.
Despite not winning and no longer being No. 1, Woods says he has learned a lot on the golf course this year.
He says he has learned even more off the course, having gone through a divorce.
