Man Dressed As LADWP Worker Among Suspects In West Hills Home Invasion
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Authorities say three men in ski masks – one of whom was wearing a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power vest -- forced their way into a West Hills home Monday morning.
The home invasion occurred at around 8 a.m. in the 7800 block of Bobbyboyar Avenue, according to L.A. police.
Once they gained entry into the residence, police say the suspects tied up the homeowner, pistol-whipped him, and ransacked the home.
They fled in a 2017 or 2018 Ford F-350 pickup truck with no plates, police said.
"I see one guy coming outta the house there with three boxes in his hands and he puts it into the back of the pickup," said Bob Gill, who was walking his dog at the time.
Gill says his neighbor emerged from the home about a minute later with a bloody face and asked him to call police.
Investigators later said the home invasion was a targeted attack, but wouldn't confirm any further details.
It's also not clear what the suspects took from the home.
"I'm very worried," said neighbor Laurie Rose. "It's scary."
