There is nothing like a stroll through your neighborhood farmers market to help make making dinner fun for the whole family. In a city the size of Los Angeles, it is easy to find a farmers market any day of the week just a short drive away.

Held at Plummer Park in West Hollywood, this outdoor street market offers produced goods from local farmers, ranchers, and vendors, who offer a variety of freshly grown California fruits and vegetables. In addition, find everything from honey, fish, poultry, eggs, cheese, olives, mushrooms, jellies, fruit juices, sauces, espresso, ethnic foods, jewelry, clothes and much more. Its a great place to stop by on a Sunday.

Held weekly, The South Gate Certified Farmer's Market is held a tthe southeast tip of South Gate Park, on a small parking lot on the northwest corner of Tweedy Blvd and Pinehurst Ave. This is a small market but serves its purpose and its neighborhood well. For over 17 years the farmers involved have helped supply the local food bank and the workforce is on a complete volunteer system (volunteers are "paid" in produce).

The Long Beach Farmers Market is probably one of the best in the LA area. It has always been able to find exactly what patrons are looking for. The only downside is the short hours, so you definitely have to plan ahead to fit this farmers market into your week. This weekly farmers market is held on a parking lot bordering the south side of one-way westbound W. 3rd St between Pacific Av and Cedar Av, a block north of one-way eastbound W. Broadway.
