The Compton Initiative: Just Do Good
LOS ANGELES (CBS) – In 2005 a church in Paramount had a vision of seeing healing come to its neighboring city of Compton and they've been achieving their goal by just doing good.
The Compton Initiative is a 40 year commitment that includes a thousand acts of service (one day at a time), that will assist in the transformation of the community of Compton.
The first one started with 135-people and now the volunteer force has grown to 2200 people in all sizes, colors and ages. The initiative has cleaned up businesses, homes for senior citizens and for the disabled/ and people are buying into this... 09
It's not trying to get something out of your community but putting back into your community.
