13-Year-Olds Stabbed At South Bay Galleria Remain In ICU
REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Sunday continued to investigate the stabbings of two teenagers at a Redondo Beach mall.
Redondo Beach police report that the victims, both 13 and from the South Bay, have undergone surgery as of Sunday morning.
The attack on the third level of the South Bay Galleria Mall occurred just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday in front of the AMC Theatres.
"Both victims were unconscious. They were on the third level of the South Bay Galleria Mall in front of the theaters," Redondo Beach police Sgt. Mike Strosnider told KNX 1070's Ed Mertz.

Mertz reports that both victims suffered stab wounds to the chest. They remain hospitalized in stable condition in an intensive care unit of a local hospital.
Meantime, investigators report that they are reviewing surveillance video to try and identify the suspect who was described by police as a Black male between 40-50 years of age.
According to police, the suspect is tall with a medium build and was last seen wearing a fatigue-type jacket, blue jeans, a black T-shirt and a dark-colored beanie. He had a possibly graying beard and mustache, authorities said.
"At this time, investigators are reviewing mall surveillance for possible video for identification of the person responsible for this incident," Strosnider said.
No arrests have been made. A motive for the stabbings was not known.
