Teen wanted for homicide in Iowa shot by U.S. Marshals in Southern California

U.S. Marshals and local Southern California law enforcement on Friday shot a teen wanted for homicide in Iowa.

The shooting happened at about 2:15 p.m. in the 1440 block of N. State College Boulevard in Anaheim, south of California State University, Fullerton. U.S. Marshals and other members of the task force they were with opened fire after contacting the suspect, 18-year-old Victor Antonio Delgadillo, near a Motel 6. 

Investigators found a firearm at the scene.

Paramedics took two people to the hospital, one of whom was Delgadillo. Doctors pronounced him dead.

The Anaheim Police Department said a bystander was minorly wounded during the shooting. Doctors treated the civilian at a nearby hospital. The medical staff released the person a short time later. 

U.S. Marshals said Delgadillo was wanted for a homicide in Marshall County, Iowa.

According to reporting from the Des Moines CBS affiliate, Delgadillo allegedly shot and killed a 41-year-old man outside of a bar on June 1. 

Law enforcement considered him armed and dangerous.
