Teen Shot To Death While Walking With Friends In Compton ID'd
COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — A 17-year-old boy who was fatally shot Tuesday night while walking with his friends in Compton has been identified.
Juan Manuel Ibarra was gunned down around 6:10 p.m. in the 1300 block of Chester Avenue.
The victim was walking on the sidewalk with his friends when they were confronted by two men, said Sgt. Diane Hecht of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
"As the two suspects drew near, one of them pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the victim, and shot him in the torso," Hecht said. "The victim is not known to be a gang member."
