Man Killed, Second Injured In Shooting At Lomita Home
LOMITA (CBSLA) – A young man was killed and a second wounded in a shooting at a house in Lomita early Wednesday morning.
The shooting was reported at 2:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to find a man dead at the scene and a second man with a gunshot wound to the leg. Both possibly appeared to have been in their late teens, deputies said, but their names and ages were not released.
A gun was recovered at the scene and several witnesses were detained, the sheriff's department said.
A neighbor who did not want to be identified told CBS2 that she has seen suspicious activity at the home.
"This particular house, it has had some kind of shady characters coming in and out," she said..."Maybe more gang-related, but I'm not sure. But that's what I see whenever I come by this street."
There was no word on a motive in the shooting or whether it may have been a murder-suicide attempt. Police have not disclosed if it was gang-related. No arrests have been made.
