Teen Girl's Screams Foil Home Invasion Robbery In Pico Rivera
PICO RIVERA (CBS) — Police say the screams of a teenaged girl foiled an attempted home invasion robbery Tuesday evening in Pico Rivera.
Officials say three men, armed with handguns, accosted a man and his daughter as they came home to their residence in the 800 block of Arrington Ave about 8:30 p.m., according to Lt. Jerry Cummins of the sheriff's Pico Rivera Station.
After one of the men struck the man in the head with a pistol, the teenaged girl ran and started screaming.
It is unclear if any of the men actually gained entry into the house.
Sgt. F. Avalos of the Pico Rivera station said the man had been pistol-whipped.
When neighbors heard the girl screaming they called police. But the gunmen fled in a Honda CRV, described as gray in color.
The father has been hospitalized.
Anyone with information about the suspects was urged to call the Pico Rivera Station at (562) 949-2421.
