Teen Dies In Canoga Park Hit And Run

CANOGA PARK (CBS) — A 17-year-old Chatsworth High School senior riding a bicycle was killed when struck from behind by a Toyota that then sped away from the scene, authorities said.

At about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, a 17-year-old boy was riding his bicycle northbound on De Soto Avenue, near Valerio Street, in Canoga Park when the Toyota hit him, the Los Angeles police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are looking for the driver of the Corolla or Camry, described as possibly gray or silver in color with moderate to severe damage to the front passenger area of the vehicle, officials said.
