Tebow Returns To Broadcast Booth After Release From Eagles
ALABAMA (CBSLA.com/AP) — Tim Tebow is returning to the broadcast booth a week after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The former Florida quarterback will be back on the air with the SEC Network as a college football analyst. He'll resume his role on the network's two-hour pregame show starting with Saturday's telecast before the Georgia-Vanderbilt game in Nashville.
"Tim quickly developed into an excellent analyst last year, and we were not shy about acknowledging his home at ESPN should he be available to return," said John Wildhack, ESPN Executive Vice President in a statement.
The Eagles released Tebow on Saturday. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner had been competing for the No. 3 quarterback job, trying to make an NFL comeback after missing two seasons.
Tebow started 16 games during two seasons with the Denver Broncos but last played in a regular-season game with the Jets in 2012. He was cut by New England in training camp in 2013.
Tebow led Florida to the national championship his junior season.
His first broadcast will be this Saturday on SEC Network, in a broadcast from Nashville, Tennessee.
