Team USA May Have Lost In The World Cup, But Goalie Tim Howard Has Won The Internet
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The United States men's soccer team may have lost their spot in the World Cup tournament Tuesday, but goalkeeper Tim Howard has won the internet.
#ThingsTimHowardCouldSave was trending in the U.S. on Twitter Wednesday after the 35-year-old made a record 16 saves in his team's 2-1 loss to Belgium in the Round of 16. It was the most saves in the tournament since 1966, when FIFA started keeping records.
The most recorded saves previous to Howard was 13 made by Peru's Ramon Quiroga in 1978.
