Taxpayers Can Score Free Help, Education At Compton Event
COMPTON (CBS) — March is just around the corner. Have you finished your taxes yet?
The Computer and Communications Industry Association and Intuit Financial Freedom Foundation will sponsor a free tax assistance events on Friday, Feb. 25 until 3 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 26 from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. at El Camino College's Compton Center, 1111 East Artesia Blvd.
Taxpayers will qualify for free tax assistance if they meet one of the following criteria for the 2010 tax year:
Made $31,000 or less
Active military who made $58,000 or less
Qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
A complimentary education resource fair will also be held Saturday for families and individuals to learn about financial aid for college and other state assistance programs.
