'Taxi' And 'Grease' Actor Jeff Conaway's Death Was Accidental
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Autopsy results released Friday reveal that "Grease" and "Taxi" star Jeff Conaway's death in May was accidental and caused by several medical conditions, including coronary artery disease and pneumonia.
Conaway died May 27th in an Encino hospital at the age of 60.
The actor had a long history of substance abuse and his public struggles played out in the 2008 season of "Celebrity Rehab" with Dr. Drew Pinsky.
Conaway was found unconscious in his home on May 11. He was in a coma for two weeks before his loved ones made the decision to take him off life support.
The autopsy released by the coroner's office stated that a "hospital urine screen (was) positive for multi-drug intake."
