Tanker Truck Leak Prompts Hazmat Situation In Carson

CARSON (CBSLA.com) — A tanker truck leak spilled some type of chemical onto a Carson roadway Wednesday afternoon, which prompted a hazardous materials situation.

The incident happened around 4:15 p.m. near Wilmington Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard.

It's unknown what type of liquid the tanker leaked, but officials believe it could have been sulfuric acid.

Wilmington was closed from Vista Bella and Dominguez while crews cleaned up the product.
