Excitement Builds Ahead Of Rams Home Opener Against Seahawks
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — Los Angeles has waited nearly 22 years for Sunday.
When the Rams take the field in a sold-out Coliseum for their first regular-season home game, the NFL will truly, officially return to Los Angeles.
And ahead of the highly anticipated game against the Seattle Seahawks, fans were getting an early start tailgating.
"We are so excited. This is our first tailgate here, so we're ready to … party," said one fan as she pulled into the parking lot, which opened at 8 p.m.
The game will mark the first to be played in L.A. since 1994, and will feature throwback blue-and-gold uniforms from 1973-99.
The team wore those uniforms before switching to the St. Louis-era uniforms that are still their official look. Nearly everyone expects the Rams to return to their LA-era colors when they move
into their new billion-dollar stadium in Inglewood in 2019.
"Why wouldn't I be here early? This is the first game in how many years," Frank Taffolla, another fan, said. "I was here when they left. I gotta be here when they return."
Kick-off is at 1:05 p.m.
