Sylmar Man Gets 35 Years To Life For Killing His Wife Of 25 Years
SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — A Sylmar man was sentenced to 35 years to life Friday for killing his 45-year-old wife after mistakingly accusing her of having an affair.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.that Albino Topete Morales, 60, was found guilty of first-degree murder with a handgun use allegation. He was also found guilty of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
Deputy DA Ani Bailey said Morales wrongfully believed his wife of 25 years, Maria M., was cheating on him. On Aug. 11, 2014, Morales shot her to death at their home on Herron Street, the DA said.

According to evidence presented at the six-day trial, during the shooting bullets also went through walls at a neighbor's house forcing the residents to duck for cover. Bullets whizzed over their heads while they watched TV, the prosecutor added.
